Ralph is a 12 year old, fair skinned boy, with a boxer like build. He talks about his father being in the navy and how the boy shouldn't be worried. At first he's very easy going and doesn't really think about the situation he and the other boys are in. He was voted leader leader of the boys on the island. Ralph was a bit pushy and bossy to the other boys during their first days on the island. Ralph is very headstrong and indepent, which helps him keep his sanity, and helps him control the boys and try to stay in charge as Jack slowly turns the boys wild and savage.
